NEW CASUALTY – RAYSUT II

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel “RAYSUT II”, a 1984 built 10880gt bulk dement carrier. Having previously called at Duqm, Port Sultan Qaboos and Salalah the vessel ran aground on Fazayah Beach, 18 nautical miles west of Salalah port.

It is currently unclear whether or not any damage was sustained to the vessel however, the grounding is severe enough to require the attendance of SMIT Salvage on Lloyd’s Open Form Terms. Inevitably a Savage Guarantee will be required by Lloyd’s Arbitration Branch and W E Cox are well placed to issue, and insure, any such documents. Furthermore, our casualty team has many years’ experience in negotiating salvage and defending any demands.

If W.E. Cox Claims Group can be of any assistance in arranging surveys, adjusting potential losses or undertaking recovery, please do not hesitate to contact us.
